Firecracker 250 Practice Speeds

NASCAR Nationwide Series teams and drivers got their first taste of Daytona International Speedway earlier today as cars hit the track for the only practice session leading up to tomorrow night’s Firecracker 250. In one of the biggest fields thus far in 2014, 45 drivers have submitted their entries to tomorrow night’s race and all 45 drivers participated in today’s practice session. At the end of the two hour time slot, Brian Scott was shown on of top the leaderboard with a lap at 193.092mph. Scott was apart of a big group of about 8 cars that went out early and posted fast lap times in the draft. Of course fast lap times from a practice standpoint do not hold much value at restrictor plate tracks like Daytona and Talladega when determining race winners.
