The first practice session for Sunday’s Cheez-It 355 at the Glen has concluded. After 80 minutes of scheduled time, Kevin Harvick ended the session on top of the speed charts with a lap of 128.474mph. Harvick and Jimmie Johnson jumped to the top of the leaderboard late in Friday’s first practice session as a few cars took a run in qualifying trim. For most of the early practice, the cars of Brad Keselowski, AJ Allmendinger, and Marcos Ambrose appeared the strongest in race trim. Those cars ranked 3rd through 5th on the speed charts. Meanwhile, AJ Allmendinger is winless in 212 Sprint Cup starts but this Sunday’s race presents a unique opportunity to capture his first victory.
