Later tonight the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is scheduled to go racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Truck Series is scheduled to go racing shortly after the Sprint Showdown that will determine the 3 drivers that will race their way into the Sprint All-Star Race that will be held tomorrow night. However, the major question surrounding tonight’s race is when will we go racing? Rain has been falling all day at Charlotte and more rainfall is expected throughout the evening. Whether we get the racing in tonight or tomorrow, we take this time to provide our 2016 NC Education Lottery 200 race predictions and stay hopeful that we will be racing later tonight!

Though we have had many exciting and unpredictable Truck Series races in recent weeks, tonight’s scheduled race may be different because of the Kyle Busch factor. Kyle Busch is always a favorite when he participates in the lower touring series and rightfully so for his sheer dominance in both the Camping World Truck and Xfinity Series’. Busch won his only start in the Truck Series earlier this year at Martinsville and is slated to make his 131st career start in the series again tonight. Busch has won 11 of his last 16 starts in the Truck Series and more impressively has won 6 of his 9 career starts in Truck Series starts at Charlotte. Therefore, Rowdy will be the overwhelming favorite tonight once again and it will be interesting to see if anyone else has anything for the #18 truck.

Outside of Busch, it is a pretty wide open field behind him which has been the theme over the last several races. We have seen numerous young drivers make their presence felt at the front of the pack in these truck series races lately. However, veteran Matt Crafton earned his first win of the season last week at Dover and will likely be the next biggest threat for the win this evening in most people’s eyes. However, I believe guys like William Byron, Daniel Hemric, and Spencer Gallagher will continue to impress once the racing action starts. Byron has proved that he can win on a 1.5 mile layout and he is becoming the surprise story of the season after another really impressive run last week at a challenging Dover International Speedway. Byron also posted the fastest lap in the only practice session on Thursday which proves that he is capable of contending again this evening.

Another guy that deserves to be mentioned leading up to the green flag is Daniel Suarez. Suarez had yet another really impressive run last week at Dover finishing 2nd to Crafton. As most are aware, Suarez has yet to earn his first win in any of NASCAR’s touring series despite several quality runs similar to last week’s Dover finish. Suarez has been knocking on the door for quite some time and I believe he is going to win a race soon. We know the Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyotas have been the best trucks in this series in recent years. Considering the talent they have in those trucks tonight, I expect that a KBM truck will be in victory lane by the time the checkered flag waves. As a result, I believe that elevates Suarez chances again tonight especially considering the fact he has excelled on the 1.5 mile surfaces. Busch, Byron, and Suarez will be extremely tough to beat tonight unless they get into some type of unforeseen trouble.
