On Sunday, NASCAR’s version of the Super Bowl will take place with the 68th running of the Great American Race, more notoriously known as the Daytona 500. While the Super Bowl is known as the biggest betting event in sports, the same can be said for NASCAR’s season opener which is the biggest betting event in racing. Unfortunately, the biggest betting event in racing does not provide the sharpest betting opportunity of the season because racing at Daytona is simply unpredictable. While our handicapping anticipates racing at traditional ovals, current betting odds for the Daytona 500 offer enough value and big winning potential to warrant betting consideration.
