They have Guitierrez listed at +2500 for a top 10 at my Aussie book.

It's supposed to be +250

Damn it's tempting LOL

They could limit me and take away bonuses like 5Dimes did with the truck race recently. Or just free roll me and keep the money if I lose and cancel if it wins.

And in my SBR job I cant really be seen to intentionally take bad lines when telling other people what a bad idea it is all the time.

Grrrr

They still hadn't graded my Logano winner from Sunday so when I emailed to remind them I also pointed out the Gutierrez odds.

They said thanks and gave me a $50 freeplay.

Gutierrez goes aggressive with Mexico tyre choice

By Balazs Szabo on  26 Oct 2016, 16:00

F1 tyre manufacturer Pirelli announced the individual tyre choices for this weekend’s Mexican GP. Some opted for a rather bold allocation while the three leading teams – Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari – played safe with their choices.

The Mexican GP celebrated its inaugural exam last year which means Pirelli had data when it evaluated its compounds for this year’s race. The Italian company will supply the trio of supersoft, soft and medium compounds which is the same as in last weekend’s American GP.

The medium and soft tyres are the mandatory sets for the race. That means every driver must have one set available for the race and must use at least one of them. Supersofts are assigned for Q3 in qualifying.

Toro Rosso drivers Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz proved to be the bravest drivers from the field as both ordered eight sets from the supersofts while Haas driver Esteban Gutierrez was the most reluctant towards the hardest compound available. It means the home hero won’t be able to practise on the medium because his only set has to be available for the race.

Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes drivers were careful with their tyre choices which means they could try out every compound before qualifying.

Can only hurt us if he has made an error and the softer tires dont work at all.

And on the positive side it shows He/Team really are targeting this race for him and if he plans to do an extra stop with all those super soft tires, thats good for our fast lap chances too.

Not sure you should be 'piling on' too hard though. It was only a hunch the team would try to help him show off at home really.

I was right about Force India wanting to make Perez look like a hero at home.

Only team in the top 12 to run the Super Soft in P1... which they only would have done to try and set the fast time as it was so cold in Mexico that the others did not bother as those tires need more heat to 'switch on'.

He didn't get there due to the tires not working... but it's a good sign that might try something odd to get him the fast lap too.

Couple of stabs for quali. Just because the odds are so over the top though.

Felipe Massa (Qualifying)* +400  vs Valtteri Bottas (Qualifying)
Jenson Button (Qualifying)* +295  vs Fernando Alonso (Qualifying)
