Holy shit. That's crazy to see Ricciardo at the same odds as rosberg. What's going on with that? Did redbull bring a big upgrade?

Holy shit. That's crazy to see Ricciardo at the same odds as rosberg. What's going on with that? Did redbull bring a big upgrade?

I think the main reason is that Red Bull have been saying for 2 months that Singapore is the next race they think they realistically have a shot at Mercedes.

And how well Ricciardo ran at Monaco. The way he smashed them every session and only lost the race due to a pit error. And this track is similar. (I dont think that similar but it is tight and close walls)

And last year both Merc cars did not handle the heat and tyres as well as everyone else.

And that Vettel has won it last 4 of 5 years, 3 of those in a red bull.

BUT... year before last Hamilton won every session, got pole, fast lap and the win by a huge margin.... so the Merc is not hopeless here by any stretch.

Anyway, hoping Merc top 1st practice as usual and Dan moves out to +600 or better.

yeah, it's a mess right now.

Kimi worth a bet as usual at 14/1 but if red bull practice and qualify ahead of Ferrari I think Kimi might get near 20/1 for fast lap again. He's 16/1 or better at Euro/Aussie books.

Perez and Hulk worth a shot. 50/1 ok and may not get better.

Williams probably a bit of value at 100/1

But unless McLaren pull the same trick as last race and try to steal it at the end, I think it's pretty likely to be a Merc, Red Bull or Ferrari driver really. Not a great track for longshot fast laps.

Pretty much every race here the winner or 2nd place car has taken fast lap. It's a leaders track. One exception was Hulk in 2013 taking it from midfield (not sure on reasons for that).  Alonso has taken it 2 or 3 times and Button took in the McLaren years ago too. Kimi has taken it, Vettal has taken it a couple of times, Hamilton took it when he won and Ricciardo took it last year running 2nd.

I've taken Verstappen to top Practice 1 +700  (mostly becasue he has as much chance as Ricciardo but is double the odds of team mate)

And Kimi +1600 for fast lap. Will add more if odds get better.

Button only makes it 3 mins into P1 before the engine just stops on him.

Red Bull began their preparations for Sunday's Formula One Singapore Grand Prix in fine form after Max Verstappen finished first practice the quickest on Friday with a fastest lap time of one minute, 45.823 seconds.

Nice way to start weekend with Verstappen bet for P1

Did not see odds for P2 but would have taken Vettel probably. Think Merc will sticki to race runs only.

Mercedes set their P1 times on Soft tires whereas everyone set it on 2 steps softer Ultra Soft tyres, so in reality Merc could have been fastest... we think.

Lewis had a hydraulic leak and missed most of session.

Vettel is unahppy with car balance and setup, in contrast to Kimi who is looking hot footed.  This is becoming a theme in recent races. I dont think Kimi has suddenyl improved or Seb has forgotten how to drive and setup so think Ferrari have done soemthing major to the car a while back that hasnt worked for Seb.

Rosberg, Kimi and Ricciardo averaged almost identical times on long runs.
