Formula 1 from Silverstone this weekend.

Haven't kept up with my usual reading the last 2 weeks so have a bit of catching up to do but Silverstone is usually pretty easy. The fastest cars usually prevail. Not a lot of upset results in the finishing order usually.

Rosberg won it last year in a Merc. Red Bull, Ferrari and Lotus have been good on this circuit for the last 4 or 5 years.

The long fast corners are Red Bulls specialty but being a fast track the Merc engine power is important too.

The Williams and Force Indias should not be as good here as Austria due to their lower downforce levels slowing them too much and wearing tyres too fast in the long fast curves.

Watch the early practice sessions to see how good the Torro Rosso looks. They could be decent top 10 bets this week.

Vettel has never been great here and I think its fair to have Ricciardo the clear fave of the two this week. I think the differecne between Alonso and Kimi is on the embaressing side though!

Lewis Hamilton      -135
Nico Rosberg      +190
Daniel Ricciardo      +2300
Felipe Massa      +2500
Valtteri Bottas      +2800
Fernando Alonso      +3000
Sebastian Vettel      +3000
Kimi Raikkonen      +15000
Nico Hulkenberg      +15000
Jenson Button      +25000
Sergio Perez      +25000
Kevin Magnusen      +30000
Jean-Eric Vergne      +100000
Daniil Kvyat      +100000
Romain Grosjean      +150000
Pastor Maldonado      +150000
Adrian Sutil      +300000
Esteban Gutierrez      +350000
Kamui Kobayashi      +500000
Jules Bianchi      +500000
Marcus Ericsson      +500000
Max Chilton      +500000

Just took a unit on Ricciardo. Not really sure he can win but will kick myself if he is even close to Merc race pace and I dont get some 23/1

During race simulation runs Vettel's Red Bull appeared to be right up there with the Mercs in P2 for race pace. Glad to have the 23/1 on Dan although the way betting is going that could get even higher when they repost after todays sessions.

Williams had a bad day of practice with problems in P1 but seem like they will be competitive. Maybe fighting to get a top 6 sort of contenders.

Ferrari and Red Bull are going to fill the spots behind Merc. (or hopefully even ahead of them in Ricciardos case) No other team is up there on this track.

McLaren just dont have a good package for this track. Thye will struggle to finish in the points.

Force India are absolute rubbish at putting together a fast lap as expected. They should be better in the race though so might provide some opportunities H2H later. Might be another case of a Force India starting back in the pack we can try to snag a fast lap from on the back of alt tyre strategy too.

The Torro Rossos look awesome. Biggest problem is working which one to bet for top 10, or both.  Just took Kvyat so far.. for a race top 10. Thinking I will take Vergne for top 10 in qualifying as he is better qualifier and Kyvat better race pace usually.

Lotus probably have the car speed to grab a top 10 quali or race finish spot. But they look like a bunch of amateurs still the way they have nothing but trouble every weekend. Hopefully they break down and dont mess with any of my bets.

F1 2014 - British Grand Prix - Points Finish - Daniil Kvyat @ +188.0 <-- same as a top 10 finish bet.

Haas

Yeah they are on the Ferrari this race somewhere.

It's actually a pretty interesting tie up I think. From what I can work out it's less of a sponsorship and more about swapping technology really. Haas is buying (rumored) Ferrari engines for his F1 team in 2016 and it seems like Haas is going to be giving Ferrari machines to make their engines better with.

Could mean this new US team comes out of the box as a half serious competitor. Haas seems like an even smarter bloke than I realized from reading about his forays into F1 so far.

A bit of a rain affected qualifying to mix things up.

Both the Ferrari cars and both Williams got caught out in Q1 and start from near the rear of the grid.

Both Force Indias, both McLarens and both Torro Rossos make top 10 for an unusual looking front of the grid.

Pity I didn't follow up on my comment and bet Vergne for it. He was around +150 too.

Ricciardo and both STR cars did not make a run in the Q3 session, not sure why yet.

McLaren and Force India cars are obviously a lot better compared to others on a damp track than they are in the dry here.

Need to wait until close enough to race time to be sure about the weather before betting anything else.

All the good cars starting from rear will make it tough to pick a single fast lap shot this week unfortunately. Both Williams and both Ferraris could be in the mix but need to see what tyre they choose to start on and what weather looks like before trying to pick one of them.

wagerweb has field 15/1, but it includes Button

Lewis Hamilton    +225

   Nico Rosberg    -160
   Felipe Massa    +8000

   Valtteri Bottas    +6000
   Daniel Ricciardo    +2200

   Sebastien Vettel    +650
   Fernando Alonso    +8000

   Field    +1500

so I bet that

weird stuff with Magnusen and Perez. Magnusen is 85/1 and Perez 100/1, but in the top 3 and top 6 markets, it's flipped.

Jenson Button Money Line -115 for Game over The Hulk

Max Chilton Money Line +210 for Game (I can't stop betting this bum) over Bianchi

Jean-Erick Vergne Money Line -140 for Game over Grosjean

MU [7720] E GUTIERREZ -115 (J BIANCHI vrs E GUTIERREZ)

Bianchi/Chilton is like Ragan/Gilliland

Late money always comes in on the same side (Bianchi and Gilliland) and they nearly always win.

So if you bet the underdogs, you have to wait until right before the race. Hard to do when they're racing all over the world at odd hours.

Bianchi seems to have stepped up in the last 3 or 4 races as the Marussia car has improved too. Chilton a nice guy but Bianchi is probably a future star is why so many people follow him in that H2H I think.
