Wanted to start an official thread for the Nationwide Series race at Road America. My early pick was Chase Elliot +500 but he had a rough day in practice today. Did not even get a full lap in before the engine labored. Team spent the rest of practice putting in a new engine. It may not matter much but seat time is valuable for these young guys that have limited experience. Hornish Jr, the overall favorite, looked very solid. Alex Tagliani also looked good which is not much surprise with his open wheel experience from road and street course races. Guess we will have to see how the odds react

I've backed Tags a couple of times in nationwide cars and he let me down badly each time.

Slammin Sammy really isn't anything special on a road course either. I think most of his open wheel races were on ovals.

Field is kind of boring this year. For all the complaints Villeneuve makes it interesting. Hoped Aussie Owen Kelly would be back as he deserved another shot at winning this. Danica made it more interesting seeing her go well first time and get better the second.

Cant see an interesting battle or storyline in this field this year.

Assuming they get the car right, I'd guess the early Chase Elliot bet is all we need.

McDowell is another missing from the field who would have had a shot at winning in almost any half decent ride.

I added Regan Smith to my roster at +1000 prequalifying. I put about .75 of a unit up on him which is the official unit listed. I may be done for win bets unless I see something I like after qualifying. Will have a couple of H2H plays after qualifying if the match-ups mirror The Greek which they normally do. Really think there is money to be made in H2H's today.

Tailing you on this one but had to lay -130, hard to believe they used that stiff in a matchup.   :crash

Yeh I was surprised to see him Kwasniewski as well. I don't see any way he stays out of trouble and keeps it on the pavement. Gaughan has plenty of experience and was fast yesterday. I'll take this match-up any day.

Probably regret it but apart from my Chase bet, I'm waiting to see the cars on track before placing any more bets.

Want to see what Hornish looks like in particular.

Oh bugger it. Can't help myself.

Argentina wins & over 2½ goals* -170
Germany wins & over 2½ goals* -125
Brendan Gaughan* -130  vs Dylan Kwasniewski

Parlay for +406

Hmmm this qualifying format might not be a great option with 37 cars on a road course.
